This morning, I drilled holes on the gatehouse wall, ready for mounting our Kununurra photo of a boab tree printed on galvanised mini orb. It was glued onto a black acrylic sheet and should be ready to handle tomorrow. We bought our smaller mini orb photo on our first trip to the northwest of WA. The photos are the same but our latest is larger. It will be seen by all visitors to our front garden.

There is one job that I need to complete – the downstairs French doors. I previously cleaned the hinges and fittings, but one door particularly hangs askew. I started to investigate this problem when the breeze opened the door and Tilly bolted out into the garden. Bluey was on top of his game and chased her back inside. Tomorrow I will put her on her lead when I start this job.
I took Bluey to the park early, because the off leash times for winter have changed. Previously dogs were only allowed off leash from 5am to 7am, and from 5pm to 7pm. In winter it is dark for most of these time periods. Now we can have our dogs off leash for the 2 hour period before sunset.
A staffy raced onto the beach without any accompanying owner. It was there alone for about 3 minutes. Bluey raced after the staffy, but I was concerned the dog might not appreciate Bluey’s participation in the game. When the owners finally appeared, I suggested they couldn’t possibly have control over their dog when they couldn’t see it. Later, I saw them let the dog walk away from the park off its lead, except when crossing the main road. At least Bluey got some exercise and is tired this evening.

There has been extensive media about the car and dog stolen from Regatta Pde yesterday. The police released footage of an adult man driving the stolen car at a Yamba service station. The dog appears to be in the car with another person, possibly a child. The car still has its Qld number plates.
